G, what's the reason for using a gold bead here instead of a black bead?

If you look at a mature Tadpole the pearl belly extends to right under the head, only the creepy crawly mouth remains. So with this "not yet mature" fly I try and keep it the same i.e as shiny as possible and as close to the hook eye as possible. Pearl flash as in your previous post is probably better plus it could double up as a minnow belly but why change something that's been working great?

Nice fly G! Innovative as usual.

Now I know you do everything for a reason when it comes to flies – what is your reasoning for using a relatively stiff material? Would you not want the movement that marabou for example gives you – as a tadpoles tale wiggles much like a damsels tail when it swims.

Thanks a lot Sam I have Marabou patterns and don't want to overlap. The material isn't that stiff hey, that is a bit of a misconception but yes stiffer than Marabou. I needed something to create a leke fat "bullet head" which still offered movement, a little bling and something synthetic (Trout can mess up a fly very quickly I must show you previous versions of this fly ) and hence why I use Krystal flash. I hope I answered your question.

Ps.For mature Tadpoles I use a different fly.
