Your wish is my command .... R5000 TOEJAM coins for you. Durbanville butcher on Wellington street has the best meet.

Maybe Mr. Peddar from Flyfishers unlimited will work out a payment plan for you if you ask him niceley... you can drop my name with him if you feel that it would help.

Agree... if you tie enough flies to break it, you deserve better...

There is another post about vice's... please can someone post the link???

After seeing the Dan Vice, the J-Vice and a few others in action, I am convinced that my Traveler is the best value for the best product...

Why do you want to replace it Will101, you tied some streamers holding the bigger hooks in the tip of the vice instead of further back and now it doesn't want to grip your #18's anymore ?

You get the Midge head for that vice, around R50 and you can tie down to a #26 or #28 with them

Ja it is definatly a regal or Look alike. The problem with these is that the quality is terrible, and the jaws dont hold small hooks very well. You will find that with a decent vice and tools, your tying will improve dramatically. I recently got a Renzetti presentation 2000. Wow, what a tool.

If you look at my initial posted pic you will understand :-)
I clamped a 3/0 in there and started hearing this weird crackling sound - can't even describe it. Eventually there was a loud "TANGG" and to my horror I found the fly loose in the vice - the tip had snapped off. My guess is fatigue. I picked this thing up second hand. not a real trainsmash, I just felt sorry chucking something out that looks fine otherwise - The rest is all nice shiny brass and looks well crafted.
