Hello friends and fellow fly fishers.

I'd like to share with you a few pics from our recent holiday to Umngazi River Bungalows in the Transkei over December. This year was the 26th year that my family have visited Unmgazi ... I spent my younger years in the 'Kei learning how to fly fish.

And of course we did a spot of fly fishing .... my girlfriend leading the way and totally cleaning up showing everyone how it's done!

My job was driving the boat and seeking out new species .... like a fishing rod !

Seemed like the fishing was on "fire"!

Fishing was rather average to be honest, it was my girlfriend who was on fire. You know when casting a rod is a mission and nothing makes sense ... then everything clicks into place and your cast literally doubles in distance ... well that's what happened to her over the holiday. Very cool to watch and be a part of.

William the fly was a tan gotcha style pattern with a lumo orange tungsten bead threaded onto the hook to simulate the egg sack of a mud prawn. All of Krystal's fish were caught on that pattern.

Oh ja, I also go a small skipjack too
