This pattern is about 3 years old, I only changed the hook recently. What makes this fly unique is the incorporation of 3 Squirrel Zonkers for the tail area (extension of the body) and not just one. I struggled for a while to imitate those 3 little tail thingies which together with the body wiggles all over the place when a Dragon is swimming. A lot of guys went the Goose Biot route (myself included at one stage) which looked ok but it offered zero movement and I wanted to come up with something different. I played around a bit and one day it just hit me, use 3 hides, two on the side and one on top it, looks very similar to the real insect's backside and together with the fury fibres of the Squirrel, it will provide the necessary movement to imitate the swimming Nymph.
I introduce the Triple Squirrel Dragon.
