    How's this pic??!! Tuna smacking flying fish in mid-air! Incredible.
    Imagine seeing this 15m from your boat...and you only have a 9wt rigged with a 20lbs leader..........do you cast?

    The flying fish looks like a Tubeology system tube on steriods... LOL

    But seriously, as a complete novice, casting a fly to a fish like that and hooking it (with knowing you have no chance to land such a beast) the experience will probably be worth it... Will keep me going for a few years.

    Why not? I've read about Sailfish being caught and landed on 2lb tippet.

    I caught a 15kg yellowfin tuna on conventional tackle off-shore at Shelly Beach, and that thing revved the K*K out of me!! On fly.......whooooooo....

    Probably by Chuck Norris...the fish was too scared to put up a fight.

    i love that pic...but i dont think it grabbed the flying fish mid air?

    probably grabbed it subsurface and tried the flight itself.

    I managed one of about 12kg on dropshot tackle, took the wrong rod along and ended up having a 40min on a medium heavy rod. guessing its around the equivalent of a 9-10wt rod.. tired after that!! cant lift them with out some backbone in your rod.

    sure wish to get one on fly one day!
