    Cool Intermediate Line for Salt

    Hi Guys

Quick Q... a good intermediate line for a Rock&Surf angler like me to start off with.. not the most expensive but also not so cheap that I end up having to buy new line after the 2nd session..

FIshing to be done off rocks, in the surf and rivers...

I would rather invest in a proper line from the word GO.

I made the mistake of buying lines to suit my pocket (read cheap), when I started out. Now I am busy replacing all of them.

Buy a proper line from the start.

I have the Cortland Little Tunny and it is a great line. You can it use it in warm and cold water, very little memory and casts like a rocket.

I wouldn't buy anything but the Airflow cold water intermediate line if you want to use it in the Cape.

I agree on the Airflow ... anything with a 6th sense core is great for fishing streamers in my book.

    Hi Mark,

I actually bought this line in Dec last year as I was looking for a 9wt intermediate line for both fresh water (barbel and larger fresh water fish) as well as Saltwater. After doing lots of reading, the cold water line works in water temps from -5 to 26 degrees Celcius. After looking at the mean temperatures for Kosi Bay, you could get away with this line there (which is the warmer waters in SA), so I am sure it will suffice for the Eastern Cape.

I was casting this line in the Surf and Estuaries in the Southern Cape (Wilderness, Sedgefield and Knysna) and it was a dream to cast.

In terms of price, I found a line pretty cheap through Mias (I see they have been flogging plenty of these lines at the shop lately).

    My 2c worth.

    Hpoe it helps.
