    A huge 30lb wild brown trout caught in a Scottish loch!

    Great Brown glad it was released although, I May well have put it out as a live bait to see if I could catch it's Grandaddy. Ah to dream and while away the time. Jax

    Tail like a shovel.

    I wonder if trout (brown or rainbow) in SA conditions could reach 30lbs. What is the SA record trout?

    Last i heard , it was Brett Mannix fish caught in the Potts in the Mnt Arthur region if im not mistaken , hit the scales at 18.45 pounds and caught on a size 16 flash back of all flies !

    Nooit!!! Nothing bigger than a 3wt must be used. And wait until next year...the okes will stalk them with 0wts in S.A.

    It is not official, but I believe it is 8.5kg.
