Inexspensive and ingenous CDC tool

The MPJ CDC tool has made the working and tying with CDC a pleasure.

Somewhere along my travels I stumbled across a home made CDC tool that is inexspensive and ingenious.
A bit of closed cell foam a knife and "Bob is your uncle"

For travelling, I now only take a single MPJ clamp and the home made unit.
It is unbreakable takes up less space than the 3 MPJ tools doing the same job.

The closed cell foam is cut at an angle to accomodate the short and the long CDC feathers.
To make a inexpensive CDC clip to grip the CDC from the closed cell foam you can use a normal bull dog glip with a strip of thin closed cell foam lined on the in sides fo the Bulldog clip.
A replacement of the MPJ tools for about R20.00 and works just as good.

Might do the job... doubt whether it will work just as well though.

The MPJ Tools tension is presumably not as harsh on the fibres as a bulldog clip might be.

Anyway nice idea though as the MPJ tool is too much expensive
