tried a few things, made some nice looking flies and some utter rubbish with the best of intent so far haha.
tough to veer away from the typical copper john usage of the UV resin. (wingcase)
I'll give it a bash guys. Can't promise anything too creative though...

bushveld scalies - worth the blood, sweat and tears
OK, Gents, here's what I did. I did not have much time to create something truly interesting, but this one will work fine.

Bead: Black Tungsten
Thorax: Squirrel Dubbing
Wing case: Black scud back covered with UV clear gue

Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey
Thanks guys, this was done very quickly one night. So it could have been tied better. The fly will catch fish though:smile:
Am I the only one that's going to make the deadline?

Nymphing, adds depth to your fly fishing.
Nymphing, is fly fishing in another dimension
OK I used 5 minute epoxy for the thorax, which I applied beforehand to create an underbody. The epoxy was tinted with brown airbrush ink, and applied over a base of gold holographic tinsel. After leaving the epoxy to set for a bit I pulled through a thin black wire rib to create the segmentation. Finished with brown superbrite dubbing and holographic flashback. I was surprised at how quick it was to tie, I was expecting it to take a while.
