    Hi Wiets

I just saw this thread now. I have material very similar to this (if not identical) got a little bit from a friend & used it to tie clouser minnows & crazy charlies. Will check at home tonight if I still have some of these flies & post you a pic for interest sake.

    Cheers

As per my previous mail, here is the material I got from a friend & then the Fly I tied using the material for the body.

    Hi Alan

I doubt if your material and my material is the same - look at the close up of my materials.
Yours seems to be a thinner diameter and denser material weave - it looks look much more fly tying friendly than mine.

Yes Wiets, my material does look a bit thinner & I must admit not difficult to use.

    Cheers

It also looks similar to a very thin sort of nylon/sparkle mylar that the Fishient guys (www.fishient.com). This comes in several fluoro-type colours and is an excellent body for e.g. Crazy Charlies, and for small baitfish imitations. The small size I find a bit fiddly to concertina-up as per Chris S' question, and really can only be used as attractive wrapping for a body. In fact I believe it's called 'Body Braid'? However Wiets' stuff looks a bit more 'Nylonny' and resilient?
