    Default Ninja Roach

Thanks to the marvelous weather I've managed to spend some time behind the vice. Apart from stocking up on crabs and prawns, dries and other stream flies, I've been working on a quick to tie dragon fly nymph that I will be using for still water trout, Clanwilliams and Largemouths.

It's loosely based on Herman Botes' Papa Roach.

Let me introduce you to the Ninja Roach...

Very Nice. I think this would have worked a charm on a stillwater a few weeks back. Thanks

Very nice fly! Tied it in #6 and strapped it onto my brother-in-law's line last week. Wanted to show him how to fish for barbel in the vaal. Visibility was remarkably good. It outfished my half-a-chicken 5:1, though the bigger ones came to the chicken.
