    Default Kabompo River Tigers

Did an exploratory trip to the boundary of West Lunga NP (NW Zambia) on Christmas Day to find Tigers.
It took about 5hrs to cover the 70 odd kilometers from the mine gate.
Getting closer to the river we started meeting local fisherman that were heading back to their villages with the days catch.
When we finally got to the river a huge thunder storm hit and we had to find shelter in the forest.
We waited and waited and waited... for the storm to pass.
Finally we made the call that we needed to get the 4x4's off the dambo before it was to wet to get out.
I made a cast in the rain.. Hooked a decent tiger on the first retrieve, he made one jump and spat the hook.
Reeled in with a huge smile on my face and then made the drive back to camp.

It is a stunning and untouched part of Africa with most of the driving on single tracks or through the forest.
The only fishing pressure is from the locals that catch for food and there is nobody to irritate you or p!ss you off.
