For the most part I still rely on High Build to finish off heads and this includes gluing on the eyes after lightly securing them with a very small amount of super glue.

It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Fusion after you've tried it.

Mc won't you please give me the brand again please or is HB the brand? Where can I get it, Builders?

Flexcoat - the rod building stuff. Ask Flyfishers Unlimited to sell you a sample. The Anglers Corner shops might also stock it.

Quick question to those who have used flexcoat. Is it suppose to take 30min+ to get sticky? Did some sample testing and wasn't impressed with drying time. If so I'm gonna pass too long...

Depends on temps etc Gerrit. HB has a pot life of about 30 minutes before it starts to get a bit thick ja.

The mention of HB and Flexcoat, reminded me of a fly shop that I use to visit in Singapore on my travels.
There was a young Chinese guy, who tied the best salt water poppers and flies I ever saw.
He would airbrush his poppers and flies, then cover with a varnish/clear coat.
I never asked him, what he used, but these poppers and flies were true works of art.
Seeing him, painting the poppers into the finest detail, with scales etc, was such a pleasure to watch.
Till this day, I regret not asking him for a popper or a fly.
The detail on the poppers were equal or better than the best rapala lures
Sadly, the shop is no longer.
