    Default Zonker vs Marabou

I suppose I could have simply Googled it, but I was wondering about the difference in action between zonker strips and marabou, (and also if my fly will ride right side up). In hindsight I guess it makes simple sense, but I'm quite surprised at how much more lively the marabou is underwater than the zonker strip. It's hard to see on the uploaded video, but the marabou hackles are always whisping (?) and moving around, while the zonker fibres much less so and even appear completely static while the fly is not being moved.

Of course they both have their place and intended purpose, and they certainly seem to go well together (http://www.flytierspage.com/sroka/marabou_zonker.htm).

    So for what it's worth...
(apologies for the out of focus bits, the dirty tank, and for one sorry looking fly)

VERY nicely done. Nothing to apologize for. Hopefully everyone was paying attention...

    Great video clip.
But it scared the little fish, it tried to swim right thru the glass.

The grade of marabou is also very important.
Look for the ones with lots of side fibres and little feathers.
if you check for marabou in the shop, if it has lot of "straight" fibres, pass by

There is something like too much movement. But as you mentioned, that depends on the application. Nice video.
