    MHX 9' 12Wt

This is my first reel build on an MHX.
There is a lot of hype around these blanks in the States.
A lot of builders swear by them. So I gave it a shot on this build as a backup rod.

    MHX 9' 12wt Blank
    Alps Triangular Seat in Black
American Tackle NBRLS Typhoon Spin/ Cast Guides as Stripping Guides in Black
    Black Snake Guides
    Black Hook Keeper
Black Thread Wraps with Some Lime Green Metallic Trims

And then last but not least just two random snaps of the two rods with reels on them.

Thanks for looking and apologies for the dust on the rods. I wiped them clean, but they are static like crazy this morning.

    Awesome builds!

I would like to know how that MHX performs with a Geet on the end of the line? It looks like a nice blank for a budget build.

Just wish you partnerd those Sage Rods with some US reels  (runs away)

Would you believe me if I told you that the Xi3 and MHX has very little between them.

    1. The blank tapers are very similar
    2. The wall thicknesses are very similar
    3. Noticeable difference is the blue on the Xi3. Sand that down and you won't be able to tell them apart.
    4. Casting in windy conditions this morning, I could not decided which I liked more. It's much of the same really.

Being a tackle tart, I am leaning towards the Xi3, however the MHX did not disappoint me and if I were on a budget the MHX would be my choice.

If I was blind folded I would not have been able to tell them apart on casting alone.
The purists aren't going to like this, but I must agree with the Yanks that these MHX Blanks are as good as they say they are.
