As I stay in the backwoods of Little Brak River, I have tried to find clear shrink tubing locally but no joy as the colour tubing does not allow me to see if the fly line has bonded when making loops at the end of the fly lines.
Is clear shrink tubing available locally in the big centres in South Africa? If so, can I obtain it in Cape Town?

Thanks - will try that.
Rather use a needle knot over the braid, user 10 or 12 pound mono...

Any electrical supply outlet should have various diameters of shrink tubing. I'm talking about the type of place where electricians go to pick up wholesale supplies. I can't recall the names of such places in SA.
I haven't had the best of luck making loops this way though. They tend to pull apart, unlike the factory made ones. Not sure why.
