    Default Cheap intermediate 7wt line

    Hi guys and girls.

I'm looking for a cheap 7wt intermediate line for still water fishing.

Lines I've been looking at are:
    1) Rio Mainstream
    2) Airflo Velocity
    3) Xplorer Intermediate

I've used the Airflo Velocity before and find it pretty good, I also have a Xplorer 9wt intermediate but it has a lot of memory.

Does anyone have any experience with the Rio Mainstream?

Is there any other lines in this class that is worth looking at?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

The Rio Mainstream is a great line.
Nice and slick and a generally even sink rather than the belly floating.
Only thing I'd consider though, is it ok for SA temperatures?

The cold coating technology goes a bit limp in too warm conditions.

I fish mine in New Zealand - so temperatures are a lot cooler in general.

Not familiar with either of the others you mention.

Ever considered getting a cheap Chinese floating line off one of the internet sites - they make wonderful sinktips and eventually intermediates

Thanks for the reply Dogtooth. The specific waters I fish in SA are pretty cold, so that should not be a issue. I'm leaning strongly towards the mainstream.
