    Default Vaal dam outflow

    Hi all,

Was planning a trip to Orkney this weekend. Was told by venue there will be a canoe rage this weekend and the outflow will be 100cub. Can someone else confirm this.

There goes the good vis we have been having for the last few weeks .

It should take about 2 days for the higher levels to reach Orkney I think that Sunday in the Potch / Orkney area could actually be quite good.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

Agreed, but 100 cumecs will flush the river nicely.

Won't it just stir up a lot of the crap that has settled? Read something about this earlier somewhere?

3 Friends and I have booked lodgings at Arendsnes for this weekend. Was really looking forward to it. Looks like a washout now, if we are going to have huge flows and hundreds of canoes on the water. This sucks.

OK, so moved our booking to next weekend. Sad thing is last year this happened to us, week before also canoe race that destroyed the visibility. Only caught one 4kg SM in three days.
