    Default Sterkies update

    Hi Guys

I am off to Sterkies for a long awaited yellow fever cure.

Just wanted to find out from you wise people of the conditions there?

    Things I have heard are:
    - that the water level is super low and will keep dropping
    - the Bergville road is all good and better that the Harrismith route

    Questions:

    - because of the water level is the municipal boat launch still functional
    - Bergville road? Good better bad? Coming from Pmb with a boat

Cool let me know.. Any help will suffice

    Tight lines
    Andre

    Hi Andre

I was there at the end of November and at that stage the municipal boat launch was fine.

One thing to keep in mind is that, due to the low levels, some structure that has been well below prop destroying depth for the last 20 years is now exposed, so be careful.

If I remember correctly, the dam was at 65% capacity when I was there. The rand water website says its at 88% now. Not sure that's possible since the wilge has been flowing over 50 m3/s for the last month?

Not sure about the roads on the pmb side since I'm from gauteng.

    Cheers
    Ivan
