Calverton Lodge - My daughter's first trout
How is this for a first fish on a fly rod (or any rod in this case). Priyanka's first trout, on a 2-weight rod and a #14 nymph. A 50cm fork to mouth hen, around 3lb give or take. At the wonderful Calverton Lodge near Lydenburg.
Apparently the Lodge stocked some 2lb odd fish for the owner's son's birthday around 2 years back, but they had no idea that any had survived the otter's and angler's, and grown rather nicely.
