Apparently the Zambo's are back in the system, adding some more spice to the Breede. We saw some turtles and seals upriver, so the food are there.
Some recent Breede pics. Please share your reports.

Some very nice fish.
Thanks for sharing.
Any guys been there in the past few weeks? After that last weekend in November it was also slow, spoke to Marius yesterday, they are at Mudlark and apparently it is a wee bit on the slow side.
Has the leerie action started along the sandbar yet? I was up a few weeks ago and was still very quiet on that front.
I'll let you know next week!

Lovely Niel! I have been working my ass off trying to pick up a grunter on fly at Infanta now. I have been casting deer hair prawns at blowholes and slowly retrieving but nothing yet. I have had one look (pancake) but nothing, I am not really sure what I am doing wrong.
Was in Grunter bay two evenings ago and there were tails everywhere, but couldnt get one fish to look.

Jade,
Take a mud prawn and release it in the water. Observe how it swims carefully and imitate that with your retrieve. Note that it swims head first and at a steady rate. Try a figure of eight or similar. I often avoid the grunters in the very shallow water when I am using a floating prawn, but have caught some in shall water. Chris Shultz? Fishes surface lures in the Swartkops and reckons 1-1.5 m is the prime zone.
Remember that some days is way more difficult than others. It is not uncommon to blank, but that one day when you catch several makes it all worthwhile.
Let me know how it goes and good luck. Hope the blog post below will keep you going in the lean times!
Regards
Niel
