I am using a Explorer Guide Series 3WT and I am more than happy, I would recommend it but as Kevin said everybody has their own likes and dislikes.
Nice! How did you break it?
Matt- we could debate rod lengths on a thread of its own- I like a slighlty shorter rod personally- so I would say that 8ft is great (I fish 7'9''). Others will tell you that for high sticking etc it helps to have a longer rod. To each his own.

Hi Kevin
Was trying to set up a bow and arrow cast when the line got tangled round the tip - gave it a little "pull" to loosen it and 'thwack' it broke at the first guide above the ferrule on the top section.A sickening sound.Luckily it was late in the day as I was fishing alone.
The real answer is to own multiple rods.
No Wind - Sage XLT 00W
Force 1 - Sage SPL 0W
Force 2 - Scott F 2W
Force 3 - Loomis Stream Dance 3W
Force 4 - Sage XP 4W
Force 5 - Sage TCR 5W
Force 6 - Thomas & Thomas Horizon 6W
Just my thoughts.
To paint lines on a silver stretch of stream, is to be humbled by nature and to be closer to thy maker.
Hell Dyno, if I had to buy all that I would break the bank. Have to sell the truck and hitchhike to the streams or rely on the charity of my buddies.
Luckily in NZ things are much simpler. All you need is:
8' or 8'6" 3 or 4 weight. for small stream stuff.
9' 5 wt. for 90% of fishing in summer.
9' to 10' 7/8 wt. for winter and lake fishing.
For me it is a struggle to keep even these rods updated. Nice to have dreams though.....
Yip, its just a dream for me.
