    There is a auction on eBay selling legal scrap ivory, this guy says that lots of people buy his scrap ivory for Fly Tying?!?

    Nope, but the knife makers would all line up to get their paws on some, it sure makes great knife handles

    "The ivory offered in this listing meets and exceeds the requirements set forth by ebay and the US Fish & Wildlife Dept. for sale in the USA. Per new ebay rules ancient mammoth ivory can no longer sell on ebay internationally"

    "The pre-ban elephant ivory scrap is legal within the 50 States but it cannot sell or ship internationally. The mammoth can ship internationally but ebay does not allow it so my sales are strictly for US buyers."


    anyway .. the pieces look too small for handle slabs .. the proper ivory (NOT mammoth) could only be used for decorative inserts (look wonderful when combined with ebony!)
