Hey, some of you may be familiar with my postings on the Flyforum forum which has become a bit dead unfortunately as i really liked its format....
I am a student at Rhodes University and enjoy fish, fishing and nature in general.
Regarded as somewhat of a nutter by my fellow student flyfishers, mainly due to the fact that i don't buy Fly- tying materials at FF shops but rather use alternative materials and a bit of improvisation. I tie flies out of literally anything. They also can;t understand how I managed to lose all five huge trout that i consecutively hooked in Thrift.... I just say i have a superior catch and release technique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Similar story. Currently in Chad and tie to stay sane. Also keep my eyes peeled for anything suitable I can use. Found the wrappers of candy bars make a good plasticised foil substitute. Bird strikes at the airport aren't being wasted either....
