    Default The fly tiers reference

I found this at Netbooks yesterday. It has to be one of the most comprehensive books on the fly tyers art that I have ever come across. Beautiful step by step illustrations of more than 500 patterns with chapters covering all the different food forms and the corresponding flies that best represent the naturals. This will surely become the definitive trout fly tyers reference for years to come. Check it out here http://www.edge-1.com/Edge/Main.asp?...y&PageNumber=1

    and here http://books.google.co.za/books?id=8...mbnail#PPP1,M1

Totally off the topic but what fish are you holding in your avatar? Looks like a cracker from this angle.

Hi Byron. It's a Westcoast Steenbras. Not the biggest I've caught to date, but it'll do for an avatar

Correct. I've decided to let my avatar reflect where I'm at on a seasonal basis. When this one disappears, you'll know I'm into another cycle
