Nice Flies Mike!
Here's a pic of a ptn hotspot I was experimenting with a couple of days ago. Its tied on a mustad #12 scud hook with a 2.4mm tungsten bead to give it a bit of weight. The tail and abdomen are tied using squirrel tail fibres, the wingcase is PT filament, ribbed using fine copper wire and the hotspot is "hot orange" UV ice-dub. By using the squirrel tail fibres it just looks a bit more buggy than the regular ptn nymphs. The flies tail is a bit too bushy but I reckon I'll nip off one or two fibres before I use it.
