    Default 1st or 2nd Fly

    Hello Guys,

I was in dullstroom on the weekend and tried various fly setups that I read about on previous posts. One was the dry fly with a dropper or two droppers etc.

My question is, How often does it happen that the first fly is taken. I have tried this on a few previous occasions and never have I caught a fish on the first fly.

    Any comments/experiences?

I had a few takes on the first fly. I think I had more takes on the dry than on the dropper. I fish this rig mainly in the WC streams.

Can't speak for Dullies either, but from experience on Lakensvlei, most of my fish were caught on the point fly and some on the second fly. Don't think I had a take on the top fly.

Fished at Jonkershoek on the weekend with a dry/dropper setup and caught 3 fish on the dropper. Fish came up to the DDD en hit the midge/dwahl bach on the way down.
