    with tying silk as normal

Wrap down the hook shank with a thread colour to match the ribbing, or use clear mono thread. Tie in V-rib and wind thread back up to the hook eye, wind rib around shank towards hook eye. Tie off v-rib with thread.

    Voila !

    Further info regarding this material

If it’s giving a smooth finish, then you’re wrapping it upside down, you want to produce a nice segmented finish. Unwrap the tying down thread and turn it over and tie down again. Alternatively you can try wrapping it the opposite way round the hook but this will probably lead to problems tying it in at the end, rather re-tie in in.

If there's a problem with bulk at the tying in position, try trimming the tying in end down to a sharp point and tie in the tip, with a bit of practice you will get the bulk right down.

    Hope you find this helpful
Fly-fishing surpasses the need to actually catch a fish, it becomes a mindset, and with time, an obsession.

Lord, grant that I may catch a fish so big that even I,
    When speaking afterwards,
May have no need to lie.
    Amen
