    HI Shamwari,

Glad to see that you are trying and doing well with your fly tying. Your last fly is spun well, finer points will come as you go. NICE.

    Jules,
All your conrtol flies posted look good. They will all do the job...
    Now it's time for the nymps & caddis in # 14 - 18.
    Choose your pattern and tie 3 in each size, i.e. 3 x 14, 3 x 16, 3 x 18. all in the same pattern.
Then do a different pattern as above.
It's amazing how repititon helps to "iron out" the wobbles.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

I will give it a bash, spinning the dear hair was tricky on the DDD, especially trimming the bugger in such a way so as not to cut his tail off...

One material that I am really enjoying is the Raffia I use for the shellback, that stuff makes those czech nymphs look super realistic.

I have bought that book from DWAF about the aquatic insect life which I am using as a guide line for colour and shape etc...helps a lot

Ihave noticed that the more I tie, the better one gets, you learn and try new tricks etc..

I also tied a klinky, forgot to put the photo on, I battled to tie the hackle off and finish the fly off neatly though, but it is getting there.

Nice - well done. I hate spinning dear hair so I don't bother tying ddd's - since I use them so infrequently I rather buy them (I always manage to chop the tail off).
