    Just a few more random flies - sort of a mix between traditional soft hackles and pupae imitations. Again the pics dont quite show all the detail but the dark collars are tied using a mix of dark brown antron and "holo" brown dubbing, the tail "hotspots" are simply chartreuse thread wraps. The green flies were ribbed with v-rib and the tan ones with strands of pearl flash.

    These look farmiliar.

    You are right, the pics dont realy do the fly's justice.
    The best day to go fishing is any day that ends in a "y"

    Smile Hotspots

    I tied a few Hotspots for the weekend trip to the Vaal - I normally use Pheasant tail fibers for the tail and body but this time I used hackle fibers for the tail and a dark rib for the body...

    Try a Cold Spot Nymph sometime.

    Essentially the same as a PTN Hotspot where you can replace your PT with hackle as you like, then dub your thorax with UV Callibaetis ICE Dubbing. Especially during last few hours of the pre hatch drift it NAILS SmallMouth.
