    Default Pictures of BIG FISH

A friend just mailed me these pics of a little tiger from Cabhora bassa at only 36 kg. Wonder if they used it for live bait???

I don't know how true, but I've heard of Goliath Tigers getting over 50kg's Imagine that on a fly-rod.

    Hydrocynus goliath

Yip, Goliath tiger alright, from the Congo River though; not Cahorra Bassa. Those pics have been going around for ages, not many people risk going to Congo to fish for them. And they're pretty rare anyway.
Yes, they do get up to 50kms.
Plus you would need a lead core line to get any control in the hectic rapids they live in...

As far as I know the Goliath Tiger is the only freshwater fish known to have attacked humans.

Urban legend maybe, but I heard it from two different old toppies that don't even know about fly fishing on seperate occasions.
