    Default Permit Hermit Instructions

    Hey guys...

Anybody have a link to or could post up a SBS on tying Permit Hermits?
A friend of mine is heading to Seychelles in a month and needs to be armed for action...
    Cheers

Contact Andrew at Laxtons. He tied up some killer Permit Hermits on a recent trip I was on.

If you get any of the flies (or if you already have any), would you be so kind as to post a pic or two? I'm really curious as to how the shells are tied.

Rory - Will do bud... I don't have any, and my swiss cheese brain barely even remebers what they look like, so If I get a good SBS from the guys, I'll put a pick of the Permit Hermit up

Super! Thank you kind sir! Ja, I recall seeing the pattern before, yonks back, but I'm the same, my pickled brain can't remember the steps!

I've got these permit hermit's in my flybox. I didn't tie them so can't help in the sbs department. Look closely and notice dumbell eyes. They are quite heavy. Brett Manix at Frontier said that this pattern outfished all others on a previous Sey trip. Even took some nice bluefin kingies...

Very cool, thanks Conrad! What material have they used for the shell? I saw a variation/similar pattern where the crabs legs and pincers are perpendicular to the hook shank, that is they stick out the side of the hook not the back. Would that style of tying still be considered a hermit or something different?
