    Default Stettynskloof ?

    Hi ,

With the summer coming , I want to have a serious go at bass. I don't want
to go to any of the mainstream bass lakes in the Cape , but have heard good things about a dam called Stettynskloof near Worcester.

Anybody been there recently ? Is it the kind of dam that you can flyfish ?
And how do you get there ? I have been all over just about every map I could find on the internet - nothing.

You've got to get permission from the water bailif at the dam. Not sure hiow you are going to get access to the water, as you need the access code. The Holsloot river is managed by the CPS, so they might be able to help with more info,. Alternatively, you could contact Dwarsberg (Trout Haven).

I chatted to Jean about it awhile ago - I hear there are some trout up there, never mind the bass! I'm interested however, the water in the Holsloot runs colder then other streams, hence it being good for fishing in the warmer summer months. Wont this be a problem for the bass? My years of bassing experience prime water temp is quite water 16 degree's+?

THere are good sized bass in Stteteynskloof.
Permission as Rendier said, via the water bailif.
Some decent trout in there as well.
You need some floatation device, cannot fish from the bank.
