    Default Got Flexicoat?

    Hi all,
I have just started tying for the upcoming salty season (well my exams are finished so now I get to go fish! ) and what better place to start than with the old faithful - the Clouser Minnow!

    Attachment 7246

This season I really wanted to try rod varnish instead of the regular epoxy as I think It gives a better finish and wont discolour over time. Problem is I dont have any and cant seem to find any in the shops. StreamX says they have some on order but Im not sure when it will arrive.

Any chance someone in CT has a little lying around that they dont mind parting with, or would let go for a small fee?

Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey

I'll PM you - might be able to help - depends on quantities though.

    Call MIAS Angling RANDBURG (Gauteng)
    TEL: 011 793-3321

They have loads of Flex Coat high build. Just what you need. They will gladly post it for you, I think.

I bought Flexcoat High Build from the angling shop in Goodwood. (Not Fishing Specialist, the one further down Voortrekker Rd towards Goodwood)

Thanks guys, went down to Tuckers as per Korrie's suggestion and they had LOADS! Thank for all the help.

One question though, can you put glitter in Flex coat? It wont stuff anything up will it?

Matt - I mistook your "rod varnish" question - sorry.

Yes, you can mix glitter in, no problem.

Please be aware though that your turning time is obviously going to be around 3-4 hours before is has "set" (depending on ambient temp/heat), so hope you have a dryer that will run for long periods of time.
