    Hi Karl

Can't confirm those catches but had the following news from Alan du Plessis:

The biggest news is the number of marlin on the alphards at present. Yesterday a friend of mine had 14 marlin strikes before 11am. We did not try for marlin, but all the guys who did had success. It was ridiculous. Twice they had multiple strikes. Once they had three fish on simultaneously and later four fish on together. We lost one very big red steenbras. (Tackle failure)

I think you should consider getting "On the Fly" at Struis asap

Halfway house delivering Tuna and all-sorts

Posted by Santiago on February 23, 2011

(halway house is halfway to Alphard banks off Cape Agulhas - Conrad)

The forecast is looking good for a trip to the Halfwayhouse to look for some Yellowfin Tuna and perhaps Dorado.
Temperatures seem to be hovering at the 22deg/C mark between the klein Sandkop and Halfway house. Reports from local Commercials are that plenty of Yellowfin are around weighing up to 30kg with some big brutes inbetween.

Hopefully we get hold of a school tommorrow, and perhaps, just perhaps we hook into another Marlin.

    Default Great Whites at Struisbaai

Check out this report. I have seen many white sharks in front of De Mond from my boat.
