Default intro and some help needed

    Hi all,

    Here's my sorry story..........lol

I moved to Gauteng about 2years ago from Cpt and I consider myself to be
Quite an avid rock and surf anler. I use to do rock and surf angling competativley
Down in cpt. Had to move to jozie due to my job.

I'm extremely interested in fly fishing as my love for fishing is causing some kinda
Turmoil inside since I'm not getting to the water at all these days.
I know absolutely nothing about fly fishing let alone fresh water.

I'm getting myself a very basic starter kit this weekend and I'm hoping someone on
This forum would allow me to tag along on their next outing wherever
Just to show me the basics and give me a few pointers as I know nothing at all
    Wrt this art, called fly!!!

I would appreciate any help and I'm more than keen to meet any one of you pro's
Anywhere to learn some from you guys.

If anyone's interested in helping an addict out pls lemme know.

    Regards
    WackyWP

First of all, we don't like competition anglers, be they past , present , or future..... they have a tendancy to think they know everything, and don't share their knowledge with others (unless paid) and on top of it they cheat, and are full of politics and Bull sh1t.....
Apart from that, welcome to the forum, and I hope that you find a sustenance for your addiction.... (must be tough having to support the Lions ..eh?)

Don't worry Boet, just joking...I'm a competition man myself, so just having a dig. I'm sure you will find several guys willing to get you into some serious fluff chucking, and with your rock n' surf skills brought to the forum, you will get more help than you actually need. Welcome again.... seriously this time.

    Yip I know.........lol

Just thought I'd clear it up by mentioning that I'm more than dump and
Clueless whith fresh water. My reply wasn't meant to sound otherwise.

I'm sure I'll find a lot of help here even just through reading the diff posts

    Regards
    Wackywp.

Let me tell you, if you can read water in the rock n' surf, you will read water easily on a trout water, or a river. You probably know more than you think already. Reading water is half the job done.

Thanx for that, I'd rather first check it out when I get there
    Hoping soon.............lol. (Hint hint)

But for now I'll just stick to practising how to cast and try and get
That working first. Everything else I suppose will come in time

Looking forward to hearing some suggestions on where to go
What to have, and how to prepare

Wishng all of u "Tight Lines"
