But your reasoning has a fatal flaw; it overlooks the fact that to comprehend it requires that one rub a few brain cells against each other. The heat thus generated produces the light that illuminates the fact, but alas, not everybody has the resource required to fuel the process --SG

Just a wild guess, is that the 'Dollars' at Richards Bay? I can't see the 'S' bend curves but they have a fair few stone groynes there?

Aha! That sounds better! I had a feeling it was somewhere in Dick's Pond as we call Richards Bay in shipping...

Yea, that's the southern side of the entrance channel - I was standing on the tip of one of the groynes. Without a rod :_( It certainly looked very fishy.

Edit: This spot is adjacent to the Chemical berth, near the South Headland - across the channel from Naval Island.

Do Garage and I get to share the Sage rod prize?

I've caught some lovely fish from shad right up to some very weird/wonderful species on fly around that area. On the incoming tide on the mud flats when the fish come in close to shore for e.g. cracker shrimp it can get very exciting.

The one fish in particular I caught about 5 metres from shore in about a metre of water was about 2 kgs - thin silver fish, diamond-shaped with long dorsal fin and large hard mouth - concertina fish?

I've just checked my JLB Snith's - yes concertina fish. From my diary the fish was a lot smaller than I recalled! Story of my life!

I got it on a size 4 sort of cracker prawn Crazy Charlie style imitation
