@CJ - Sorry to link drop, but I wrote a wicked post on how to go about fishing in the Western Cape, I think it might be of great use to you - http://www.flywaters.co.za/western-c...l-explanation/

Come back once you've read and let me know what you think and we can discuss it here.

Cool...I'll have a look at it.

Have a crazy amount of fishing planned - tying flies like a mo-fo!!!

    Leeries/Mullet at Meizenberg Legoon
    Sand Shark at Langebaan
    Snoek off the coast
Sand Shark/Snoek of Elands Bay coast
    Blue Kurper at "Sercret venue"
    Clanwilliam Yellows on the Olifants
    Smallmouth Bass on the Oilfants
Trout on some of the Cape Streams

    Yoh....no rest - just fishing!!!

    Chris,

You do not need to become a member to fish the CPS controlled rivers and stillwaters. You can take out a day permit or temporary membership if you will only be fishing a couple of times.

G'Day gents. I'll be back in SA for Christmas and will hope to wet a line with a few of you.

I'll be in Knsyna form Christmas to New Year and then back in CPT until the 9th of Jan. SWAMBO knows that fishing takes priority on this trip

    Hey peeps,

I need some advice here... This is the response I received from the CPS:

You can join as a country member or you can pay daily.

    Country membership will be

    R60 entrance
    R170 Subs
Seasons permit R200 [or you pay R50 per day]

If you pay daily you pay R120 per day.

Do you have a wildcard? If not you also need to pay R30 per day for a forestry permit.

This office will closing from the 20th December but the phone will be switched through to Streamx [tackle shop] and they will take bookings.

I don't mind paying these fees etc.. I just need to know what to do next. I've had no respose since.

How does one go about booking the beats and are they easily available with many being on leave this time of year..

I am down from the 17th December till the 7th Jan and would love to get out and fish a few times..especially one or two different streams as I've fished the Smalblaar once..

Anyone keen to have me tag along, PM me as I love to fish.. Any info/feedback welcome..
