    Default Hermanus is HOT

Just spoke to guys who have fished Hermanus Lagoon for the last 2 days.

Greg Clarke's biggest fish was 80cm plus Leerie.
Elf of 50cm plus also came out.

The fact is that there are a couple of fish in Hermanus - definitely not wall-to-wall. If you land one Leerie or Elf in a day session you are doing pretty well. The other reality is that the water literally stinks and there is so much snotty weed in there that you can't get a single fly out of the water without having to clean it.

Ah you are talking about fish, I thought we were going to see half naked people on the beach

They had more than one fish.
The green snotty stuff was only at the Prawn flats launch site.
The rest of the lagoon was clean. But very full/high.

If the weather holds, will be there on Sunday.
    Will give feedback

    not disputing your report.

I only reported what Greg told me.
Maybe he had a lucky day or 2, which sometimes happens.

I will be going thru on Sunday.
    Cammo, you are welcome.

    Hopefully it will hold.

The lagoon has been closed for about three years now. Maybe even longer...

The grapevine says that it will not be opened because all the sludge will end up on Grotto Beach which will in turn mean that their Blue Flag status will be lost.

Develoment of the caravan park should also start soon.... A big hotel right on the water. Development sucks.......
