    Default Holsloot directions

    Hi guys
I need some serious help. We were redirected from elandspad to holsloot because of the fire. All external (supernatural and otherwise) forces are out to stop me from ever fishing Elandspad (dtayl13).
Anyway, I have tha gate code for the Holsloot, but have no idea how to get to the gate. Please Help!

Go through the fire, initiate gate code and go fish.

    Hey Mike

You head through rawsonville towards brandvlei dam, but just out of rawsonville you'll cross over a bridge - Thats the river you'll be fishing

Just after the bridge there is a right hand turn to Dwarsberg.

Burn down that road, and at the t junction swing a right and follow the road to the gate.

Burn through the gate and be careful for kids, livestock and the crazy gravel road before you hit dwarsberg trout lodge - from there is a couple of km up the road. All beats well marked.

    Have fun man

Terrible pun there on my behalf Dave! Purely accidental! Leave all fire making materials at home Mike!

Thanks Jade. Thats a huge help. I've been meaning to fish the Holsloot for a few months, but always end up on SB6 which is my bestest. The cancellation of our beat on EP has forced my hand.

SB6 is also one of my preferred beats - ha ha it was purely for the reason that the fish are dead keen to come to the dry, and its quite a small section stream compared to the river of the system.

The Hollies will be a challenge - but it only makes the fish more rewarding. Enjoy!

Here are the directions and map - http://www.trouthaven.co.za/contact.htm
Once you get to Trouthaven just follow the road all the way and you will see the beat markers. If you are fishing Holsloot 6 then you can park on the lawn upstream of the bridge that crosses the river. Remember that the "bucket" that the dam drains into is out of bounds so just follow the main stream up from the bridge and you will then be on the Kaaimansgat.

I will be fishing Smalblaar 6 tomorrow ;-)
