    Hi,
Slow retrieve, deep (near the bottom) with as large a fly as you can cast! Olive, orange, brown etc. Seach for Conrad Botes "Sponge Bob" fly, or try a semper fly, large clouser etc. That said, I have even caught the smaller cob in shallow water on a floating deer hair prawn fly! The cob are not leader shy or scared to bite - it is a matter of getting the fly in front of one and they will most likely gobble it down!
    Have fun.

Managed to get a small 61 cm kob, but a 1.2m plus one looked three times at my surface fly without taking it
