    Default SF Minnow

    Hi guys
    I am trying to catch my first saltwater fish on fly as a lot of guys seem to have a lot of fun and I think I am missing out. I am tying a few flies for this summer and I heard that SF minnows are hard to beat. Could someone please direct me to a SBS or even post a photo of one.

    Thanks
    David
    An honest fisherman is a pretty uninteresting person.

    Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and not only is he hungry but broke for the rest of his life as well.

    Hi Dave,

    Not too sure where in WC you are or what you are going to fish for or even what lines you have, but the following will give you a good chance of picking up a few species.

    Clousers in chart over white and olive over white in size 1/0 for leeries/kob and size 6 for smaller species.
    Crazy Charlies in tan and olive for smaller species.
    White Flippers in size 1/0 for surface leeries.

    That should give you a good chance of picking up most species. From there anything else you tie is just fun. Play, experiment and if you keen to go for a fish in Sumer, give me a shout.
    Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
    Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
    Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey

    If you want to know how to tie a good SF Minnow for Leeries you ask Aidan or Josh. They tie lots of salt water flies.
