    Hi guys, i'll be fishing Vaal de Sioleh on the weekend -

    whats the venue like? any tips?

    Yes, make sure you don't wade upstream onto the next farm; there is [or was] some sort of fence a few meters from the waters edge; its downstream of the nice looking rapids and where river splits.

    PS: Fish below the willows on opposite bank

    First and formost welcome to the forums.

    How about telling us a bit about yourself .

    On the toolbar at the top of the page is a search functtion. Type in Vaal De Siloh, or Ben Joh as it's more commanly known and read for a week.
    It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

    Vaal de Sioleh and Ben Joh are not the same venue AFAIC. Ben Joh is the section where the baities hang out. Vaal de Sioleh is through the gate up the dirt track.

    Chartreuse copper johns always used to be good flies at VdS.
    Get in at the bottom of the "beat" and fish all the way up along the opposite bank.
    Stay away from the spawning beds
