Hi Guys
I am going to Ponta do Ouro in the first week of Nov 2012. I would appreciate some advice on tackle, flies and spots.

" Not tonight baby! I gotta fly"

Theres not much info and from what i read, fishing kinda sucks in the area and improves further north. But i am probably still going.

There is no fireworks fishing wise, but you will get lots of wave garrick in the surf zone, at Do Ouro, Malongane and Mamoli. We picked up some good Kingfish at Malongane in front of the dive camp, on the ledges. Mamoli is probably your best bet if you want to fish from the shore. All the usual Chartreuse flies work well, so no need for special flies and funny tactics, fish early morning and late afternoon. Hopefully the camps are not to full and you can have some time alone on these spots.
Offshore, there is quite a couple of options. Some of the smaller reefs, like breadloaf and texas has surprisingly good fishing, all about 10 - 15 meters deep, so not bad for FF. Do not expect a Seychelles adventure, but with some perseverance, you will probably get a couple of good fish.
NS- We got a nice GT of about 20kg between Mamoli and Malongane, from the boat and had a sailfish hit the fly, about 100 meters behind the break in front of Malongane, so you might just get something good.
