    Default Salwater rod

    Howsit guys.
Looking to get a slightly heavier rod to throw bigger flies for cob. My current 8wt tfo proffesional struggles a bit with bigger flies.
Like the reviews for the redington vapon.
Anybody fish this rod and what would you suggest a 9wt or 10wt?

You can try to overline your 8 with a 9 weight line, I do this on my 8 when fishing big flies and it makes a big difference. Haven't used that rod, but I would go with a 10 or even an 11 if you already have an 8. The 9 isn't going to give you much of an upgrade in fly size.

Good advice on lining up - try one of the Outbound short lines though.
Designed to be lined up already.

They have short front tapers that load up and make casting big flies a doddle.
I'm casting 6-8inch barra flies with my 8 weight no problem, but having said that it's not TFO.

That is just something to consider on a level playing field.

    thanks guys.
Makes sense to rather go with a 10 weight.
