I think I'm more excited than she is about the prospect of my new fishing buddy.

The best is to start her at a stocking pond.
She gets rewarded for her efforts much easier and learns how to fight and land a fish.
From there take her to the rivers.
I have seen a couple of kids loose interest very quickly on the river if the fish are off and it is a little cold, never to return to fishing
At the stocking pond it is easy to have a flask of coffee handy, she stays dry etc.
Wading etc is not fun, when you are young, it is cold or windy and you struggle to cast

she is very familiar with fishing and much better at it than her brothers, much to their dismay. We will be heading out to sonstraal over the weekend for a bit of fun, was there Sunday and saw some huge bass cruising around and she moaned cos we didnt bring any gear with.
