    Default Olive Woven Nymph

I have long admired the flies of Andrzej Koziel, I hope this does the pattern justice.

    Hook: TMC 2302 #8
    Weight: Lead wire
Body: Anything you like, zelon and Glowyarn used here.
    Legs: Partridge
    Rib: 4lb mono
Shellback: Bronze Mallard and clear body stretch

Wrap lead leaving a portion at the bend for a taper and a bit at the front to tie off materials.

Smooth off the lead with white thread/floss.

Start spiderweb or ghost thread and tie in the rib of mono.

Tie in the top half of body along the side of the hook.

Tie in the bottom half along the other side.

Weave the body and tie off.

    Measure your mallard.

Tie in mallard and shellback, if you are using a mono thread now is the time to change to a black thread.

Pull the mallard down and take 2 turns of rib around it to keep it there.

Now pull the body stretch down and take 2 turns around it with the rib.

Rib and tie off, now trim excess shellback.

Tie in the partridge for the legs.

    Make a head.

    Colour the shellback with pen.

Varnish the head and a swipe with HAN on the shellback.

    HI Tango,

Very nice two tone weave. I like it stacks. Come up with some more.

The polystickle has a white body with green rafia pulled over as a shellback and tail. The body on this bug does look like it a bit.

There are plenty of polystickle patterns around, and if you or anyone can show me one that nearly duplicates this pattern to be one, so be it. Call it what it is. Not even the shape or action here would do it for me.
