Mutant trout~~~!!1 ive never seen 1 that big in reel life... where did you catch it and on what gear? looks very lush behind you was it summer?
Caught it at Jonkershoek in Stellenbosch. It was during September month. This one was caught on a white death, in dam 5. Floating line with a twitch retrieve.
is the white death a dry fly? it looks like a awesome place to fish... very nice fish!!!!
Nope not a dry fly. It is a really nice place. 6 dams to be fished with a variety of species. Rainbow, brown, golden trout and witvis can be caught there, as well as Kurper during the hot summer months.
Witvis? did you weigh that 1 ? is it ur pb?
no did not weigh it. my personal best is that golden trout on fly, 4.75 kg also caught at Jonkershoek. Witvis is a smaller species of the yellow fish. Catch them on small dry flies or small droppers. They are really easily spooked. I would say that this one was about +-3kg, but not in very good condition as you could see at its fins.

Hahaha ja ek is afr. Die golden trout is nogal scarry, veral as jy vang en skielik kom die geel ding langs jou op. Vang jy gereeld?
