I heard the mouth was apparently open recently with spring tides, can anyone confirm this. And if it is worth travelling there to go fish in Kleinbaai, Franskraal or Gansbaai. Could there be any leeries, shad etc entering?

Can anyone recommend me good spots out that way, as I am going to Franskraal for a weekend in the next 2 weeks or so :D . A newbie to the saltwater fly :o .

hey,i think maybe mullet would be ur best bet in there.my mate used to get alot of small steenbras but that was many years ago.as for the leeries and elf...i doubt it.havnt seen any action there before.

your best bet is probly to ride 30min back to hermanus and fish the lagoon there.the fish are trapped.hopefully you can manage a fish or 2 there.
