Wish i had time to get the thing sorted out, will probably start all over from scratch :-( My own fault for leaving a backdoor open though ...

The area is stunning yes, just a pity that fewer and fewer people are visiting it and fishing it ...

Most nowadays go after bigger species like Barbel en Yellowfish, and they have no idea of what they are missing out on. Stalking skittish rainbows and browns in these ultra-clear streams can only improve one's general fishing ability, and if not that, perhaps mindset and approach ....

Absolutely stunning photo's in your album Mario! I do not think there is an area as beautiful or as wild as that left to fish in SA!
When i get back to SA later this year this will certainly be on my first to fish list! It is photo's such as those that re-confirm, that, regardless of crime and BEE (etc) SA is still the best place under the sun!
p.s. your smallstreams.co.za site has been out of order for a while?? Please get it back on track so we can see some more photo's, plan our trips to Rhodes and remain insanely jealous ;-) Please!

I'll be in Aliwal this weekend.

I went fishing with core fly (John) laast weekend and we had loads of fun with some Babers at soetdoring (10 kg +). I am a baber junkie. I want to go plop a few flies in the kraai, the section down to the orange from that low water bridge. Baber or yellows.

I'll be there bright and early saterday morning.

Rhodes is becoming less-and-less of a "must fish" destination, and that's a BIG mistake. The photos cannot truly show you the beauty and wonder of the area, much less it's trout - you are seriously missing out if Rhodes is still a blank on your Catch_Return ....
